While both California and New York have opted to ban gas powered cars, Colorado will instead provide a new batch of tax credits and build a more elaborate network of charging stations, all in hopes of wooing people into electric vehicles.   2. Another bicyclist killed in crash with vehicle. A woman riding her bicycle near 35th and Federal was killed on Sunday afternoon. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation. (KUSA)
  3. Denver to use coliseum as emergency shelter as arctic cold heads toward the state. Beginning Wednesday, the City of Denver will use the Denver Coliseum as a 24-hour warming center for anyone that needs a warm place to stay. (9News)
  4. Colorado had one of the highest voter turnouts in U.S. last November. According to the Colorado's Secretary of State, Colorado had one of the highest voter turnouts in the 2022 midterm elections. Of those registered to vote, 58.5 percent in the state voted, compared to the national average of 46.8 percent. A large majority of those were mail ballots. (CO Newsline)
  5. Winds stoke wildfire near Mount Sanitas in Boulder. The wildfire, which was reported Monday afternoon, started with a structure fire and then fanned by wind gusts of 40 mph. The Boulder County Sheriff's Office issued a mandatory evacuation order around where the fire was burning, near the 2900 block of Sunshine Canyon Drive. (CO Sun)
