Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. COVID-19 booster shot campaign ramping up this fall. After Labor Day, a campaign will promote communities to get vaccinated with the next round of coronavirus booster shots —which will be available to those 12 and older. Less than half of Colorado's population has gotten fully vaccinated. (CPR)
  2. Fist fight breaks out on a train at DIA. A video was released of the fight last Friday on an inbound train to the terminal at Denver International Airport. The videos reveal a group of people were fighting on the train. Airport officials tried to minimize the dust up, but the video shows fists flying. (FOX8)
  3. Is Denver's Zuni Power Plant worth saving? Sun Valley residents sure hope so. Residents banded together with Historic Denver to submit an application to nominate the old Xcel Energy coal plant as one of Denver's Most Endangered Places — a list that's published each year by Colorado Preservation, Inc. (Denverite)
  4. 2022 on pace to be one of the hottest years in metro Denver. So far this year, there have been 55 days with a high temperature of 90 degree or more. The upcoming forecast calls for 90 degree temperatures that could last through Labor Day. (CBS4)
