Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Two snowmobile riders killed in avalanche in Grand County. Two men riding snowmobiles were killed near Mount Epworth, which is about six miles east of Winter Park. Grand County Sheriff's deputies and search-and-rescue crews found one of the victims, a 58-year-old male, but were unable to revive him. The second rider wasn't immediately found as the weather got worse on Saturday evening. (Yahoo!)
  2. Community First Foundation provides $350k to Jefferson County nonprofits. The grants range from $700 to $30,000. The funds will be dispersed to Jeffco nonprofit organizations that actively increase inclusivity in across the county. (Golden Transcript)
  3. Arvada will extend micro-mobility pilot program through 2023. The City of Arvada announced that it will keep shareable e-scooters around, as the city's team continues to gather data. (Arvada Press)
  4. Gas prices have gone up across the state over the past week. Cold weather across much of the U.S. over the past two weeks has forced refineries to slow operations and has sent prices at the pump slightly higher. A gallon of gas was $3.29 on average this week, up from the previous week's average of $3.18 per gallon last week. (FOX31)
