In-Person Learning For Jeffco Elementary Students Announced

Jeffco elementary school students are set to return to in-person teaching full time in the upcoming school year.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Jeffco Public Schools has announced a plan for elementary school students to return to in-person teaching full time in August. The plan includes an option for families to choose online learning. A plan for middle and high school students to return to in-person teaching was underway, officials said.

The district also announced a later start date, Aug. 24, to allow for preparation at elementary schools; however some start dates may vary, officials said. Many public health measures will be implemented to protect students, staff and community members when schools open, the district said. Teachers are set to return to work Aug. 12 for preparation.

The district has launched the Restart Jeffco webpage to provide community members with the latest updates on school reopenings for in-person learning.

The district is evaluating public health guidance, monitoring changing conditions and working with other districts to determine whether middle and high schools can re-open for in-person learning full time, Jeffco officials said.
