Hi all. It's me, Brad K. Evans, your host of the Daily. Come along for everything you need to know about what's going on these days in town.

Friday's weather: Mostly cloudy. High: 82 Low: 61.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Lakewood who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Lakewood Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Jefferson County School District presents list of 16 elementary schools to close. With shrinking enrollment across the district, the Jeffco School Board is set vote on Nov. 10 on the list of schools to be mothballed. (Chalkbeat)
  2. Swimmers and paddleboarders can return to the lake. The toxic algae bloom has been treated, and the City of Lakewood is saying that it's safe to get back in the water. (CBS4)
  3. Suspects have been arrested in Lakewood carwash murder on Colfax. Lakewood police announced that they have arrested four individuals, two that are under 18, for the July murder of Ramon Castro Contreras after a failed carjacking at a car wash near Sheridan Boulevard and Colfax Avenue. (FOX31)
  4. Now you can take an audio tour on Lakewood's Art Line. Art can now talk, well, at least in Lakewood. The new, free audio tours are activated through QR codes that connects the listener to artist interviews and historical tidbits. (Lakewood)
  5. Arrests are up at Denver's Union Station, but is it any safer? The crime-plagued transit station was called a "lawless hellhole" last year by the RTD union. Since that time, more than 900 arrests have been made. (Out There)
