Kitten Rescued From Lakewood Storage Unit
Someone heard a kitten meowing for help and West Metro Fire Rescue saved the little animal.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A fire rescue crew broke into a Lakewood storage unit over the weekend to save a kitten who was trapped inside.
The storage facility manager heard the kitten meowing for help, and called 911.
A West Metro Fire Rescue crew was called to the storage unit, near Hampden and Kipling, and was able to cut the lock off the unit's door and help the little animal.

"The key to the rescue- the storage facility manager who heard the kitten meowing for help," West Metro Fire Rescue said in a social media post.

The kitten was turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Animal Control.
Earlier this month, West Metro Fire rescued a raccoon whose head was stuck in a jar while the creature was hanging precariously from a tree.
