Firefighters Rescue Raccoon With Head Stuck In Jar In Tree: Video

ROXBOROUGH, CO — Firefighters came to the rescue of a raccoon who was in quite the jam — er, peanut butter jar — high up a tree. The critter managed to get his head stuck in the glass jar and then climbed the tree, where he teetered precariously before his rescue.

West Metro firefighters used a ladder to reach the raccoon, who was "pretty tired" of his predicament, officials said.

One firefighter then used a dog catcher loop to grab the critter around the torso. The crew lowered him to safety and held onto him to get the jar off his head.

When they let go, he scampered back up the tree.

"We think he's feeling a bit better now," the fire department wrote in a social media post.
