Here are the top stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Police still searching for suspect that stabbed a doctor in Lakewood. The incident occurred on May 5 at a physician's office near the 300 block of West Jefferson Avenue in Lakewood. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries after he refused to treat the patient. (FOX31)
  2. Project aims to bury planet-warming carbon. A first-of-its-kind in project in Colorado will take the carbon dioxide that's produced at two ethanol plants in northeastern Colorado, and pump it into a saline aquifer almost a mile underground. (CPR)
  3. Bike thefts in Denver continue to increase. Who is stealing all these bikes, and who is buying them? CBS4's Brian Maass digs in, and discovers a murky web of online sellers and bike justice vigilantes. (CBS4)
  4. Plane crash still under investigation at Jefferson County's Rocky Mountain Airport. It's still unclear why the plane crashed, that took the life of the pilot on xx. (7News)
  5. Buying a new home isn't always cheaper (or easier) than buying a used one. New home buyers are finding out that the initial price that lured them in, is far less than what they end up paying for a new home in today's real estate market. (5280)
