Lakewood Man Sentenced For Stabbing Wife 15 Times

LAKEWOOD, CO — A Lakewood man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for an attack on his wife that left her permanently injured. The sentence was handed down in Jefferson County District Court Wednesday.

Alan Scott Evans, 33, pleaded guilty Oct. 24 to attempted murder and one violent crime count.

In March 2018, Lakewood police were called to Evans' home at 2583 S. Everett Court. When the officers arrived, they heard screaming and found Evans with blood on his hands, beard and clothing, according to the First Judicial District Attorney's office.

Evans' 33-year-old wife was found in a bedroom, bleeding and suffering from 15 stab wounds and cuts, the DA's office said.

Earlier that evening, Evans told his wife that he had relapsed on methamphetamine and the two began arguing. He left the house for a time and returned to find the bedroom door locked, so he kicked open the door and began stabbing her, the DA's office said.

The victim continues to suffer from her injuries.
