Lakewood Police Find Human Remains Near Elementary School

Human remains were found near Kendrick Lakes Elementary School, Lakewood police said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — Detectives are investigating human remains that were found Thursday at a construction site near Kendrick Lakes Elementary School, Lakewood police said.

Officers were called to the southeast side of the school, at 1350 S. Hoyt Street, around 10:40 a.m. Construction crews working on the site came across bones and immediately called 911, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Investigators said the bones appear to have been at the site for "a significant amount of time."

The remains will be sent off for testing to determine exactly how old they are.
