Man Accused Of Stabbing 2 At Lakewood Bar

LAKEWOOD, CO — A man is accused of stabbing two people June 27 at a bar in Lakewood.

David Anthony Charles, 29, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's office announced Monday.

Lakewood police officers were called to the Hangar 101 Bar and Grill, 7575 W. Jewell, at around 2 a.m. after a report of a stabbing. A bar fight broke out between Charles and a friend of his, and a second group of people, according to an arrest affidavit. Charles is accused of stabbing and seriously injuring two men.

He then left in a car but was contacted by police soon after, the DA's office said.

Charles was advised of the charges against him in a virtual hearing Monday. He's being held at the Jefferson County jail and is due back in court July 28 for a preliminary hearing.
