Man Accused Of Stabbing Woman To Death In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, CO — A man has been taken into custody after a woman was found stabbed to death on New Year's Day in Lakewood. Police were called to a home in the 2500 block of South Cody Way around 11:20 a.m. and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Stephen Douglas DeRossett, 52, was immediately taken into custody, police said. He's accused of killing 49-year-old Kelli Jackson, who was declared dead after the officers arrived at the home.

DeRossett faces first-degree murder charges.

DeRossett was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Detention Center.
