Man Dies After Officer-Involved Shooting In Lakewood
The man was shot outside the Lakewood Police Department.
LAKEWOOD, CO — A 57-year-old man has died after an officer-involved shooting outside the Lakewood Police Department Friday night, police said.
Police agents arrived at the station, at 445 S Allison Pkwy, at about 8 p.m. and found a man and woman arguing, the LPD said. When agents tried to make contact with the couple, the man pulled out a handgun, police said.
Officers fired their weapons at the man and he was injured. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The woman who was involved in the incident was not harmed. She was taken to the police station for further interviews with detectives, police said.

The Jefferson County Critical Incident Response Team will investigate the shooting. Agents involved in the incident will be placed on routine paid administrative leave per LPD policy.
