LAKEWOOD, CO — A man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in a crash that killed a Lakewood woman last year.

Todd Kenneth Grudznske, 47, was slapped with his sixth DUI after he caused a multi-car crash that killed Angela Wimmer.

The 25-year-old woman was stopped at a red light at in the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and Kipling Street on Sept. 30, 2018. Grudznske rear-ended Wimmer's car, pushing her into oncoming traffic. Her car was hit by three other vehicles.

She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.

Debris from the multi-car crash flew more than 200 feet, and the impact of Grudznske's vehicle left an imprint of his license plate number stamped in Wimmer's car, investigators said.

Prosecutors said Grudznske's blood-alcohol level after the crash was four times the legal limit — he had at least nine shots of hard liquor and four beers in a morning of bar-hopping, according to 9 News.

Grudznske was convicted by a Jefferson County jury after more than a day of deliberations. He was found guilty in a total of 13 separate counts, including first-degree murder, felony DUI, vehicular homicide and attempted first-degree assault for the three other drivers who were injured.

Wimmer was a native of Muenster, Texas, according to her obituary. Funeral services were held for her in Lindsay, Texas last year.

Wimmer was on her way home from church when she was struck by Grudznske's vehicle, according to a GoFundMe page set up to pay for her funeral expenses. In a post on the page, her friends said Wimmer "was a bright heart and an inspiring person."

"...please pray for the repose of Angela's soul and for all of her loved ones as they continue forward," the post read. "Most of all, please don't drive any vehicle while impaired in any way."
