LAKEWOOD, CO — A man was found guilty Monday of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 43-year-old Brigido Badua in Lakewood.
In May 2019, Jesus Osvaldo Bernal, 37, met Badua when the two were released from the Adams County jail at the same time, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office said.
Badua and his wife were staying at the Trails End Motel, at 9025 W. Colfax Avenue, when Bernal arrived at the couple's room May 30. The two men had a "short conversation," before Bernal stabbed Badua in the heart with a large hunting knife, the DA's office said.
