Man Groped Exotic Dancer, Shot At Lakewood Cops. Found Guilty

A JeffCo jury found Eric James St. George, 40, guilty of several charges for a really bad day in 2016.

LAKEWOOD, CO -- A man was found guilty of shooting at Lakewood Police officers after allegedly groping an exotic dancer in July, 2016. A Jefferson County jury found Eric James St. George, 40, guilty Feb. 9 on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault to a police officer, illegal discharge of a firearm and unlawful sexual contact, according to the First Judicial District Attorney's Office in JeffCo.

A woman called 911 on July 31, 2016, saying she had just left St. George's house in the 8100 block of West Eastman Place. Lakewood Police responded to a call of "shots fired," the statement said.

The woman told police she was an exotic dancer and that George had paid her to dance for him. But when he crossed the line and groped her, she quickly exited his house, the press release said. St. George followed her outside and started shooting. Lakewood cops reportedly tried to contact St. George by phone, but he wouldn't pick up. They then surrounded the house.
