LAKEWOOD, CO — A 24-year-old man who was part of a trio involved in a botched robbery has been sentenced to 48 years in prison for a Lakewood shooting. The sentence was handed down in Jefferson County District Court Tuesday.

Damon Omar Porter shot 24-year-old William Scott at close range on April 4, 2018, the First Judicial District Attorney said.

Porter was with Dominic Pacheco-Donelson and Jazmine Hunter in a stolen car when they followed Scott into his apartment complex parking lot, the DA's office said. Porter and Hunter got out of the car and pulled out a gun on Scott, demanding his keys and phone. Prosecutors said Porter shot Scott in the shoulder as he stood two feet away.
