  1. Man sought as "person of interest" in early morning fire in Golden. The person of interest has been identified as James Gambrell Jr., who allegedly put a gun through a hole in the wall between two townhomes at the Table Mountain townhomes on West Colfax before a fire broke out on Friday morning.   2. Saving Sloan's Lake becomes a little more fun with Jammin' On The Jetty this weekend. As part Sloan's Lake Park Foundation's effort to save the lake, they're hosting a concert today, Saturday, Sept. 17 as part of an awareness campaign about the perilous situation the lake is in. (Denverite)
  3. Colorado's halfway houses are "a revolving door to prison." Colorado's halfway houses were set up to reduce recidivism, but an explosive new report has insiders claiming that the system is plagued with problems and is unnecessarily sending many back to prison. (ProPublica)
  4. Bullet hits car's windshield on I-25. A man and his daughter were driving on I-25 near Empower Field going southbound, when his car was hit by a stray bullet on Tuesday night (FOX31)
  5. People are getting their COVID-19 booster shots. According to the Colorado Department of Health and Environment, thousands have flocked to nearly a dozen community vaccination sites across the state. They're being vaccinated with the new bivalent boosters that target omicron subvariants. (FOX31)

  • Free-For-All-Flea market in Lakewood. The Buy Nothing Green Mountain group is hosting a flea market on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Dunstan Middle School located at 1855 S Wright Street. Basically if you have stuff you want to give away, or if you want to get stuff for free that people are giving away, this is the place to do it! (10 a.m. -1 p.m.)
  • Lakewood Cultural Center installs new sculpture. Sparks were flying this week as the LCC installed new art in the outdoor commons area. It's now ready for visitors, so stop by the Civic Center Plaza in downtown Lakewood and check out them out. (Lakewood Cultural Center)
  • Prescribed burn planned: West Metro Fire Rescue will host a small-scale prescribed burn at Bear Creek Lake Park south of the Bear Creek Reservoir from Sept. 26-30. For your safety, please follow posted signage, trail closures, and avoid the area. (Lakewood)
