Presidential Primary 2020: Here's Who Jeffco Voted For

Around 99 percent of ballots have now been counted in Jefferson County. Here's who the county voted for.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — As of Wednesday, despite being the fourth largest county, Jefferson County voters had returned highest number of ballots cast of any county in the state.

"Turnout in Jeffco is currently 50 percent — historic for any primary or non-November election," the Jeffco Clerk and Recorder's Office said in a public update.

Democrats

  • Bernie Sanders: 35 percent - on par with the statewide average for Sanders, who is the state's projected Democratic winner as of Wednesday morning.
  • Joe Biden: 24 percent - a bit higher than the 21 percent statewide average as of Wednesday morning.
  • Mike Bloomberg: 20 percent; however, he announced Wednesday that he's dropped out of the race and endorsed Joe Biden.
  • Elizabeth Warren: 18 percent - on par with statewide average.

Republicans

  • President Donald Trump: 90 percent - slightly lower than the statewide average of 92.
  • Both Bill Weld and Joe Walsh were under 3 percent each.

Super Tuesday Latest Results From Around The Country


Among Democratic voters in Jefferson County, turnout is 64 percent — a near-general election level, the office said.

Among Republican voters, turnout is 52 percent, which is "extremely high" in a primary with an incumbent president on the ballot, officials said.

"Among unaffiliated voters, turnout is 39 percent — remarkable given that this is the first time they’ve ever been eligible to vote in a presidential primary in Colorado."
