  1. U.S. Transportation Secretary visits Colorado and says "I-70 expansion at Floyd Hill will help Colorado and nation." Pete Buttigieg met with Colorado leaders on Thursday as he toured the state's transportation systems. Floyd Hill is one of Colorado's top transportation projects, and is set to receive hundreds of millions of dollars from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure bill. (CPR)
  2. Thieves fix car and then steal it A Lakewood man was repairing his Hyundai Sonata in his Belmar parking garage on Tuesday and after taking a break, when he returned, he discovered the car was gone. (FOX 31)
  3. Lakewood program giving low-level offenders a second chance. A 'second chance' pilot program in Lakewood is a first-of-its-kind in the Denver Metro Area. The Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program is focused on giving adults that commit non-violent, low-level crimes another shot at doing the right thing. (CBS4)
  4. Kathleen Vredenburgh is the first female Deputy Fire Chief in Denver. Vredenburgh joined the Denver Fire Department in 2004, and over the years worked at numerous fire stations across the city. She began her career in public safety as a Lakewood Police Agent and will now be second in command of Denver's Fire department, replacing Jeremy Vigil after he was stopped for a DUI earlier this year.
