Rollback Week Begins At Lakewood Rec Centers

LAKEWOOD, CO — Leading up to Lakewood's birthday on June 24, the city is hosting special events, contests and a scavenger hunt. In celebration of the anniversary, some of the city's most popular recreation centers will offer $1 admission.

In June 1969, residents living in neighborhoods such as Alameda, Green Mountain, Bear Creek, Applewood and Lakewood voted by more than a two-to-one margin to create a city, one of the largest incorporations of its time, according to the Lakewood Heritage Center.

Schedule for $1 admission:

June 10 - Charles Whitlock Recreation Center & Clements Community Center
June 11 - Carmody Recreation Center
June 12 - Green Mountain Recreation Center
June 13 - Lakewood Link Recreation Center
June 14 - Morse Park Pool
