  1. With warmer temperatures, new alert to be used. The National Weather Service in Colorado is adopting a new type of heat warning index. The new system is called HeatRisk and it relies on local climate data to determine how much hotter temperatures will than normal, and what could be hazardous to humans. (KHN)
  2. Student with gun apprehended at Bear Creek High School football game. A 15 year-0ld student was arrested at a Bear Creek High School football game on Thursday with a loaded handgun at the school's Trailblazer Stadium. (CBS News)
  3. City expecting a rough winter at Union Station for homeless and drug use. When colder temperatures rise, both RTD and the City of Denver are expecting an uptick in crime at the transit station this winter as those without homes move toward warmer areas. (Denverite)
  4. Rising crime across the state forces communities to rethink law enforcement. The lack of mental healthcare resources have contributed to the increasing crime in Colorado. Some believe that the state needs to step in and provide better mental health facilities as a way to reduce petty crimes. (7News)
