Teen Arrested In Connection With Shooting Death Of Lakewood Man

A 17-year-old boy is in custody after a 64-year-old man was found shot to death in Lakewood, police said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 64-year-old man in Lakewood, police said. The teen faces first-degree murder charges.

Family members found the man with gunshot wounds Monday near the entrance of his home, and called 911.

Officers were called to the home, in the 8100 block of West 12th Ave, just before 11 p.m., police said. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

After launching an investigation, the teen was taken into custody Thursday, the Lakewood Police Department said. Because he is a juvenile, no further information will be released.
