Here are the top stories in Lakewood today:
- COVID-19 vaccine for children Under 5 may be approved this month. Millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccines for children under 5 will be available in the next few weeks. (CO Newsline)
- DIA oil wells may be shuttered. Denver is considering a plan to plug and close more than 64 oil wells near Denver International Airport. The wells have not produced oil or gas since May 2018, but each uncapped well currently costs the city $750M annually to maintain. (Axios)
- Gun sales increase after high-profile mass shootings. In the past week, Bristlecone Shooting and Training Center in Lakewood, says they've seen a 60 percent increase in registrations for concealed carry training courses. (7News)
- Industry opposed air pollution bill approved. Gov. Jared Polis has signed a bill that will strengthen how Colorado's polices air pollution. That includes targeting 188 additional pollutants that are recognized as hazardous, but are not regulated under the Clean Air Act. The law increases the requirements for air monitoring around the state. (CPR)
