Woman Found Guilty Of Kidnapping, Assault In Lakewood
Angelique Cassandra Lopez, 29, kidnapped and tortured a 33-year-old woman in Lakewood, authorities said.

LAKEWOOD, CO — A woman was found guilty of kidnapping and assaulting a 33-year-old victim at a Lakewood motel, the 1st Judicial District Attorney's office announced Tuesday. The woman is one of six people who were charged in the case.
A Jefferson County jury found Angelique Cassandra Lopez, 29, guilty of second-degree kidnapping, aggravated witness intimidation, menacing, third-degree assault and false imprisonment, the DA's office said.
On May 13, 2019, Lopez and another woman forced the victim into a room at the Big Bunny Motel, 6218 W. Colfax Avenue, the DA's office said. The two strapped the woman to a chair using duct tape and zip ties.

For three hours, the victim was threatened with a handgun, assaulted and burned with cigarettes and incense, the DA's office said. She was then injected with a cocktail of methamphetamine and heroin and dumped in a parking lot.

Someone found her and called 911. She was found barely conscious, bleeding, with duct tape on her wrists and a needle mark in her arm, authorities said.
Six people were charged in the case, and four have received prison sentences. The group believed the victim had given information to police about a crime, the DA's office said.
Lopez remains in custody at the Jefferson County jail. Her bond is set at $250,000. Her sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 27.
Lopez faces up to 21 years in prison.
