LAKEWOOD, CO — Rescue crews found the body of a woman Sunday near Lakewood Gulch after torrential rain flooded the area. A witness told Lakewood police the woman was in the water during the flash flooding near 12th and Miller Street Saturday evening.
Rescue crews were called to the area at about 6:30 p.m., and searched for nearly two hours before lightning storms and deep water made the mission too dangerous.
The crews returned Sunday morning to find the water level had gone down, but the search was hindered by thick vegetation, authorities said.
