City Of Littleton Warns Of Coronavirus Scams
Scammers are using the new coronavirus outbreak to take advantage of people, Littleton city officials said.

Scam artists are exploiting public concern amid the spread of the new coronavirus, the City of Littleton said. The scammers are preying on anxiety and fear.
"Scammers, and sometimes well-meaning people, share information that hasn’t been verified," the city said in a public notice. "Before passing on any messages, paying someone, or sharing personal information, do some fact-checking by contacting trusted sources."

- Don’t click on links from unknown sources.
- Watch out for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or experts saying they have information about the virus.
- Ignore online offers for vaccinations. There are no vaccinations at this time.
- Be alert to “investment opportunities.” The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is warning people about online promotions, including on social media, claiming that the products or services of publicly-traded companies can prevent, detect, or cure coronavirus and that the stock of these companies will dramatically increase in value as a result.
