Colorado Town Named Among Top 5 Richest Places In U.S.
A Bloomberg report identified the richest towns in America, and one Colorado town was ranked No. 4.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO — A Bloomberg report identified the richest towns in America, and one Colorado spot was named in the top five — Cherry Hills Village. The report based its assessment on household income, and the top towns in America have households that earn more than $400,000 a year.
With an average household income of $406,314, Cherry Hills Village actually dropped one spot from its No. 3 ranking in the 2019 Bloomberg report. With a population of around 6,000, Cherry Hills Village is named for the grove of cherry trees near the original town site.
The richest towns in America are Atherton, Calif., with a household income that exceeds a half-million dollars, followed by Scarsdale, N.Y., with $452, 041. They were followed by Hillsborough, Calif., Cherry Hills Village, Los Altos Hills, Calif. and then Short Hills.

In 2019, an analysis of FBI crime rates found that Cherry Hills Village is also the safest city in Colorado. Cherry Hills Village has a rate of 0.3 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens, according to the report. The city also has a citizen-to-officer ratio of 3.29 per 1,000 people.
