Coronavirus Littleton Update: Case Rates In Each Neighborhood

LITTLETON, CO — Since Sept. 1, eight new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Littleton, and no new deaths have been reported, according to public health data. Since late July, coronavirus case rates have gone down in the city.

Since the outbreak began in Colorado, 325 coronavirus cases have been reported in Littleton, and there have been 48 "confirmed and probable" COVID-19 deaths in the city, according to the Tri-County Health Department.

Jeffco Public Health and Tri-County Health Department have updated their COVID-19 data to offer more accurate case counts in Littleton. Tri-County now offers a breakdown by Littleton neighborhoods, and both agencies have been able to assess which cases are linked to addresses within Littleton's municipal boundaries.

Since the coronavirus outbreak began, there have been 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Jefferson County side of Littleton, according to data updated Tuesday. No new cases have been reported in the area since Sept. 1.

Over the past two weeks, there have been more than 500 cases of the coronavirus reported in Arapahoe, Douglas and Jefferson counties, according to data posted by state health officials.

In early August, the state granted Arapahoe County an extension for its variance, which was set to be revoked if high case rates continued; however, the county has since seen a drop in coronavirus case rates. Around 96 percent of residents in the county have been wearing masks, according to public health officials.

A variance is a leniency granted to businesses and churches that eases restrictions if the county proves that cases are under a certain level. If Arapahoe County loses its variance, some businesses would be forced to scale back their services, and others may have to close.

Since Sept 1, 2,496 new cases have been reported in Colorado.

As of Wednesday, 59,920 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Colorado among 756,298 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed. Around 7,173 people have been hospitalized, and the death toll has reached 1,882.
