More Than a Ton Of Food Donated In Denver Credit Union Drive
Denver Community Credit Union branches in Denver and Littleton rounded up 2,300 lbs of food for local food banks last week.

LITTLETON, CO -- TLC Meals on Wheels, a Littleton non-profit food bank, got some extra holiday cheer this week as Denver Community Credit Union's Littleton branch donated more than 100 lbs of food during the 2017 #DenverCommunityGives Food Drive. The gift was part of a larger 2,300 donation of food rounded up by members and employees of the Denver Community Credit Union.
"Denver Community staff single-handedly donated 1,418 pounds of nutritious food, which amounts to an average of 15.5 pounds per employee," a statement from the credit union said. "Credit union members and partners generously contributed an additional 940 pounds of food."
The majority of the food collected (2,235 lbs.) was donated to Volunteers of America Colorado’s City Harvest Food Bank. City Harvest Food Bank distributes to over 70 community pantries and food banks serving low-income families and the homeless throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area, according to a statement from the food bank.

TLC Meals on Wheels has been providing nutritious meals to seniors and others in the South Metro Denver Area since 1968. TLC Meals on Wheels in Littleton delivered nearly 100,000 meals to seniors in 2016, according to a statement.
