Officers also handled burglary, theft, assault and a drug-violation warning across multiple Longmont neighborhoods on Sunday and Monday. 
• Colorado Bill Could Limit How Longmont Police Use License Plate Reader Data (longmontleader.com) — A proposed Colorado law could significantly change how Longmont police use license plate reader and other location data, especially anything older than 24 hours. The bill would require warrants in many cases, sharply limit data retention and sharing, and mandate new oversight, sparking debate between privacy advocates and law enforcement over its impact on investigations.
• Firefighters contain tree fire near Hygiene Elementary School in Boulder County (timescall.com) — Firefighters quickly contained a tree fire near Hygiene Elementary School, just west of Longmont, on Tuesday afternoon, with a Longmont ladder truck called in to reach flames high in the cottonwoods. Traffic on North 75th Street was reduced to one lane, but school operations continued normally while investigators work to confirm what sparked the blaze.
