CO 119 Safety, Mobility & Bikeway Improvements: Week of May 10 (mailchi.mp) — If you commute between Longmont and Boulder, expect ongoing lane shifts, closures, and detours along CO 119 and nearby roads like Airport Road, Oxford Road, and Business Center Way as safety and bikeway upgrades continue through 2027. The project anticipates heavier traffic by 2040 and is adding a commuter bikeway, new crossings, and speed enforcement, so drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should follow posted detours and work-zone rules.

2. Longmont police notes: Assaults reported on Ashcroft Drive and 9th Avenue (timescall.com) — Longmont police handled two reported assaults Monday, one on Ashcroft Drive and another on Ninth Avenue, along with arrests for DUI, menacing, and a restraining order violation. Week 8 of spring's best performances from Boulder, Broomfield and Longmont (dailycamera.com) — Longmont High’s girls soccer team is undefeated at 16-0 and hosting Holy Family in Tuesday’s 3A quarterfinals, their first deep postseason run in 16 years. The roundup also notes Longmont baseball’s loss to Broomfield and standout performances from nearby Erie, Niwot, Monarch, and other Boulder County programs.

4. Loveland sexual assault case against Longmont Fire battalion chief dropped (timescall.com) — A former Longmont Fire battalion chief has had all 11 criminal charges against him dismissed in Eighth Judicial District Court, ending a high-profile case that began last September. He had been on paid administrative leave from Longmont Fire since June, and attorneys will return to court June 11 to review and seal the case.

5. 12 indicted in Boulder County for trying to steal $300,000 in Front Range card-skimming scheme (timescall.com) — Card-skimming devices were discovered at two Longmont 7-Eleven stores as part of a larger Front Range scheme that allegedly targeted Colorado EBT users and attempted to steal more than $300,000. Twelve people have been indicted in Boulder County, with most in custody on high bonds after investigators tracked a suspect vehicle and seized hundreds of cloned cards.
