• Boulder Valley School District will close five schools as enrollment declines (coloradosun.com) — Louisville families face major school changes as Boulder Valley School District closes five campuses and shifts students starting in 2027-28, including rerouting Douglass students to Coal Creek Elementary and reconfiguring Monarch PK-8 into a middle school. Eldorado PK-8 will become an elementary school, sending many Louisville middle graders to the new Monarch Middle, amid district-wide enrollment declines and emotional community pushback. 
• Erie Town Council votes 4-1 to endorse Boulder County commissioner expansion proposal (coloradohometownweekly.com) — Boulder County voters, including those in Louisville, will see a November ballot question on expanding the county commission from three to five members, a move Erie's council just endorsed 4-1. Supporters say more seats mean better representation for communities like Louisville, while critics worry about higher costs and less effective decision-making. A second question will ask how any new seats are elected.
