Monument council to consider utility relocations for Jackson Creek Parkway widening (thebadger.news) — Monument residents should know the Town Council will vote Oct. 5 on an agreement to relocate sewer and raw-water mains for Phase I of the Jackson Creek Parkway widening between Higby Road and Fat Tire Drive. The proposal splits costs between Woodmoor Water and Sanitation District and the town, with officials saying bundling utility work into the road contract could improve coordination and save money.
   

2. Monument considers taking drainage land from Conexus (thebadger.news) — Monument officials are weighing whether to accept drainage and other undevelopable land from Conexus LLC, which would make the town responsible for maintaining key Dirty Woman Creek and Teachout Creek tracts. A public hearing is set for Oct. 5, and the proposal also involves Triview and Woodmoor districts, future town-funded improvements, and sewer access for needed repairs.
   

3. Monument's draft budget projects $656,209 gap; capital plan lists $115 million in projects (thebadger.news) — Monument’s draft 2027 budget currently projects a $656,209 gap between revenues and expenses, even as the town plans more than $115 million in capital projects over five years, including major stormwater work. Forecasts show healthy reserves now but a potential drop below the town’s 20% minimum by 2030, with key budget presentations and the adoption vote scheduled for November and December.
   

4. Colorado's largest wildlife overpass cut I-25 collisions by 91 percent (optimistdaily.com) — Drivers traveling the stretch of I-25 between Larkspur and Monument are seeing far fewer wildlife crashes thanks to Colorado’s largest wildlife overpass near the Greenland exit, which has cut collisions by 91 percent. The $15 million project, with added underpasses and fencing, is helping elk, pronghorn, and even small mammals cross safely while inspiring similar efforts on other state highways.
