• Jackson McCabe is Pinhead history ‘pintern' (sanmiguelbasinforum.com) — A Nucla High School junior is heading to Washington, D.C. this July to share West End history through a Smithsonian-affiliated “pinternship” sponsored by Telluride’s Pinhead Institute. Smithsonian representatives recently visited Nucla’s Rimrocker Historical Museum, where local historian Jane Thompson is also guiding him on preserving the town’s original school bell and encouraging more community involvement with the museum. 
• Mustangs are regional champs! (sanmiguelbasinforum.com) — Nucla Mustangs baseball just captured the regional championship, powered by clutch home runs and strong fan support, and now heads to Lakewood for the state tournament this week. Coach Randy Gabriel says the team’s resilience, traditions, and community backing — including help from his son Wil and local seniors — are driving their postseason momentum.
