• Libraries are much more than books (pagosasun.com) — Pagosa Springs residents can now fully enjoy the newly expanded Ruby Sisson Memorial Library, with more gathering spaces, a makerspace, and a wide range of in-person and online services. The library is also seeking an Archuleta County resident for a board vacancy and offering new perks like radon detector checkouts, Hoopla e-books, Colorado Parks passes, and weekly Tech Time support. 
• CSP warns wildlife crashes are on the rise in Colorado (ftluptonpress.com) — If you’re driving Highway 160 between Durango and Pagosa Springs this fall, State Patrol data show it’s one of Colorado’s highest-risk corridors for wildlife crashes, especially from October through December. Troopers urge Pagosa-area drivers to slow down, scan roadsides for animals, use high beams when appropriate, and avoid swerving if a collision is unavoidable. They also remind motorists to call 9-1-1 or *CSP after any wildlife crash or when animals appear injured near the roadway.
