• Thornton Police Department investigates fatal ATV wreck (denvergazette.com) — Thornton police are investigating a fatal ATV crash near the 10600 block of Riverdale Road that killed a 42-year-old man Sunday morning and closed the road for over two hours. Investigators believe he lost control on a westbound path before overturning into a ditch, and they're asking anyone with information to contact the department's tip line. Authorities also urge extra caution when using recreational vehicles.
   

• Evergreen Devco greenlit for apartments, senior housing after water tap moratorium lifted (therealdeal.com) — Thornton City Council has unanimously approved annexation and zoning for the 26-acre Creekside Gardens project at East 104th Avenue and Washington Street, clearing the way for hundreds of new homes. After a water tap moratorium stalled plans, Evergreen Devco can now move ahead with 250 apartments, 166 senior living units, and new commercial space, with construction expected to start later this year.
   

• Thornton Man Indicted for Making Online Threats to Kill Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Officers (justice.gov) — A 40-year-old Thornton man has been federally indicted for allegedly making online threats to kill law enforcement officers and others, and for being a felon in possession of ammunition. Investigators say they found ammunition and explosive-related material at his home, along with online searches for private gun sales. He remains presumed innocent while the FBI Denver office continues its case.
