• ‘It surpassed anything that I expected': Teller County hotdog stand raises money for injured CSP troopers (kktv.com) — Mountain Dogz in Woodland Park is donating all proceeds from its August 27–29 “name your own price” hotdog sales to two Colorado State Patrol troopers wounded near town. Regulars Trooper Skylar Hoehn and Trooper Clark Tinan are recovering, and locals are lining up at the stand outside Woodland Hardware to show support for them and area first responders. 
• Loveland man IDed as person killed in shootout after 2 CSP troopers were shot in Colorado mountains (reporterherald.com) — Law enforcement has identified the man killed after a shootout near Woodland Park as 51-year-old Robert Rudolph Richards of Loveland. Authorities say he allegedly shot at two state troopers and a sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop attempt, before being fatally wounded by returning fire; both troopers were treated at a Colorado Springs hospital and survived.
