Brookfield PD: Still River Greenway Cleanup Begins
Police are cautioning residents to stay off the trail.

BROOKFIELD, CT -- The police took to social media to announce that the cleanup of the Still River Greenway has begun, on schedule.
The SRG is still closed, and promises to be especially hazardous on July 5-6 as tree crews, assisted by the Highway Department and Parks Department, work to clear the north end of the trail.
Police are cautioning residents to stay off the trail, and they will assign an officer to the construction zone for the duration of the work.

Phase One of the cleanup calls for crews to clear the area between the Police Station and downtown. Parks officials are estimating that section will re-open to the public on July 8. There is no plan in place yet to clear the Greenway from the Police Station south.
The Still River Greenway was among the areas hardest hit by the May 15 macroburst.
