Connecticut Again Expands Travel Quarantine List

CONNECTICUT — Gov. Ned Lamont, along with the governors of New York and New Jersey, on Tuesday added one state to the coronavirus quarantine list and dropped two other areas.

Visitors from Rhode Island must now self-quarantine for 14 days when entering Connecticut, New York or Jersey. Delaware and Washington, D.C., were removed from the list.

Last month, Lamont signed an executive order that will subject visitors who violate the state's coronavirus travel advisory to a $1,000 fine. Travelers are required to fill out an online form before traveling to the state. Those who refuse to fill out the form can be fined.

States are put on the advisory list if they have a daily positive coronavirus test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a 10 percent or high positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average.

As of August 4, the following 35 locations meet these criteria and are included in Connecticut's travel advisory:
