CT Coronavirus: Deaths, Cases For Each Nursing Home Released

CONNECTICUT — There have been 568 confirmed deaths among nursing home residents attributed to the new coronavirus in Connecticut, according to the latest weekly update released Friday by Gov. Ned Lamont. There were another 200 "probable" deaths due to the virus.

The number of deaths among nursing home residents is based upon data reported by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Confirmed deaths include those among nursing home residents with a laboratory test positive for COVID-19. Probable deaths include those determined by the ME to be related to COVID-19 but for whom a positive laboratory result is not available.

The total number of confirmed positive coronavirus cases inside Connecticut nursing homes is 3,423 residents.

Sheridan Woods Health Care Center in Bristol and Abbott Terrace Health Center in Waterbury have claimed the most fatalities, each home to 22 residents who died from COVID-19, according to the report.

Statewide, the death toll from the virus is 1,764, and 23,921 active cases have been confirmed. The state continues to see a high amount of deaths with 125 more reported Friday.
