CT Coronavirus Updates: 33,554 Cases, 2,967 Deaths Reported
The number of coronavirus hospitalizations on Connecticut continues to decrease significantly.

CONNECTICUT — The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut is now at 33,554, and 2,967 deaths have been reported, according to the latest data from the state Department of Public Health.
The number of positive cases rose by 570 over the past 24 hours, deaths increased by 35, and hospitalizations dropped by another 59 to 1,242.
Hospitalizations have been declining rapidly over the past two weeks and deaths have been slowly declining. On Saturday, 58 deaths were reported and on Sunday 35 were reported. Officials are hopeful this new trend continues.

The number of people tested thus far has risen to 130,192, with an additional 6,623 over the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, new hospital admissions dropped by 21 in Fairfield County, 16 in New Haven County, 23 in Hartford County, and six in New London County. Hospital admissions rose by four in Litchfield County and three in Middlesex County. There was no change in Tolland and Windham counties.
Of the total 2,967 deaths, 1,758 involve people over the age of 80; 656 involve people between the ages of 70 and 79; 363 involve people between the ages of 60 and 69; 120 involve people between the ages of 50 and 59; 40 involve people between the ages of 40 and 49; 19 involve people between the ages of 30 and 39; 4 involve people between the ages of 20 and 29; 1 between ages of 10 and 19; and 1 between the ages of zero and nine.
