CONNECTICUT — Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19.

"I wanted you to hear straight from me that I tested positive for COVID-19 today," he tweeted. "I feel good and I’m not experiencing any symptoms. We’ve done contact tracing to let people know. Thankfully I’m double boosted and I encourage everyone to get your vaccine and boosters if eligible."

Lamont took a regularly scheduled rapid COVID-19 test Thursday morning that was positive, his spokesman Max Reiss said in a statement. He confirmed it with a second positive rapid test and is awaiting the results of a PCR test.
