Connecticut revamped its pass-through entity tax system in 2018 in response to the federal $10,000 limit on state and local tax (SALT) deductions. Pass-through entity taxes are generally paid by smaller businesses when an owner or owners pays taxes through personal tax returns. Gov. Dannel Malloy signed a bill into law that established a pass-through entity tax that was offset by a personal income tax credit. The credit amount was reduced starting in tax year 2019.
