CT Native Indicted On Charges She Killed Her 3 Children In MA
A woman with ties to Connecticut was indicted on charges she killed her three children in January, according to prosecutors.
DUXBURY, MA — A Massachusetts woman and Connecticut native was indicted on charges that she murdered her three children. Lindsay Clancy, 32, of Duxbury, was charged with three counts each of murder and strangulation, according to a statement from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz.
Clancy is accused in the deaths of her children Cora Clancy, 5, Dawson Clancy, 3, and Callan Clancy, 8 months. On the night of the killings, Jan. 24, Clancy also attempted to take her own life, according to authorities and her lawyer.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found that the cause of Cora and Dawson Clancy's deaths was asphyxia, and the cause of Callan Clancy's death was a complication of asphyxia.

In February, Plymouth County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague outlined the events of the day leading up to the killings on the evening Jan. 24, when Sprague claims Clancy "created the situation" that enabled her to cause the deaths of her children by sending her husband out to get takeout dinner and run another errand.
Clancy's lawyer Kevin Reddington has argued that Clancy was mentally ill and the killings "were not planned by any means," reiterating her past suicidal thoughts and emphasizing her recent stay in a mental health facility.
Reddington questioned whether Clancy would ever make it to trial, stating that she is suicidal. She also suffered several severe spine fractures when she attempted to end her own life by jumping out a window and falling 20 feet and is not expected to recover meaningful function below the level of the spinal cord.
