CT Positive Coronavirus Test Rate Over 1 Percent 3 Days In a Row

The state's coronavirus positive test rate remained above 1 percent for the third day in a row. Hospitalizations are still low.

CONNECTICUT— Connecticut had its third day in a row of a positive coronavirus test rate above 1 percent. There were 233 positive cases out of 21,509 test results reported Friday.

Another two coronavirus-related deaths were reported, which brought the state total up to 4,480. Net hospitalizations dropped by one patient down to 51 patients.

Connecticut’s school learning model indicators are still well within the low-risk category across all counties. The low risk favors more in-person learning, according to the state Department of Public Health and Department of Education.

The primary metric is the number of new coronavirus cases per 100,000 population per day over a seven-day average. The highest county is Hartford at 3.9 daily cases per 100,000 population and the state as a whole is at 3.2.

The state would reach “moderate” risk when the figure goes to 10 or more, which would support more hybrid learning school models.
