CT State Police Release Statement On Lewiston Mass Shooting
On Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Police put a "be on the lookout" for a vehicle that may be connected to the mass shooting.
CONNECTICUT — Connecticut state police said that no specific threats have been made in the state and that they stand prepared to help law enforcement in Maine following the mass shooting in Lewiston.
At least 16 people were killed and another 50 were injured at a restaurant and bowling alley Wednesday night. The gunman then fled into the night, which led to a massive police search.
A police bulletin identified Robert Card, 40, as a person of interest in the attack.

On Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Police have put a "be on the lookout" for a "Blue Chevy Suburban with Maine plate 6625ZD," which may be connected to the shooting in Maine, WTNH News 8 reported.

Connecticut State Police Colonel Stavros Mellekas released the following statement regarding the shooting:
On behalf of the men and women of the Connecticut State Police, we express our deepest sympathies to the people of Lewiston, Maine. This assault on innocent citizens is deeply disturbing and heartbreaking.
At this time, our focus will be on protecting communities within our state. No specific threats have been received, but in the interest of public safety we are closely monitoring the situation and remain in close communication with our regional law enforcement partners.
The Connecticut State Police are prepared to address any threats to our local communities should they arise.
If requested, the Connecticut State Police will assist law enforcement in Maine.
Our thoughts are with the community and the first responders of Lewiston.
Gov. Ned Lamont tweeted the following on the shooting:
The news of these mass shootings last night in Maine is sickening and heartbreaking. The growing number of mass shootings in our country is infuriating, and we cannot become complacent to this epidemic of gun violence.
I applaud and thank the work of first responders in their swift actions to protect our communities - here in Connecticut and throughout New England.
The @CT_STATE_POLICE is prepared to address any threats to our local communities should they arise and stand ready to assist law enforcement in Maine if requested.
