Fundraiser Started After Bear Destroys CT Family's Car
A GoFundMe has been started after a bear entered and destroyed a woman's car over the weekend.
CORNWALL, CT— A fundraiser has been started to help a family with expenses after a bear destroyed one of their vehicles.
Brittany Mosimann is organizing the fundraiser called: "BEAR DESTROYS CAR Please help replace my moms car!"
Here's what she wrote on GoFundMe: "Hello! I'm sure most of you have seen the viral video of a HUGE black bear sitting completely still in the front seat of a car over the past few days. Well, the bear was NOT completely still the entire time. He absolutely destroyed the car, ripped apart two doors, shredded the head liner and back seats, etc.

"The car is 100% beyond repair, and needs to be replaced. The owner of this vehicle is a loving grandmother who cares for her precious grandson during the week over an hour away from home. The temporary rental is costing an astronomical amount, and the insurance company is giving her quite the hard time over everything! The insurance company is giving an incredibly hard time about it. Saying no one can come evaluate the condition of the vehicle until sometime in June, but 2 of the 4 doors don't work, it doesn't turn on, and the interior is an absolute wreck. They only pay a portion of the rental costs and only for a certain amount of days. With insurance vehicle value depreciation, there is no way she will ever get a reliable vehicle for what they offer her for what she needs it for (daily commute, winter conditions, etc).
"If you've seen this video and wished you could help the owner out in any way, feel free to send a donation, or simply share the link! Thank you so much for your generosity!"
