CT Weather: First Freeze Of The Season Possible This Week

The week ahead weather forecast for Connecticut begins with some rain showers during Monday's commute back to work and school but once the rain ends Monday night sunshine and seasonal temps dominate largely.

Northern areas of Connecticut could see the potential first freeze of the year on Thursday night as temps will flirt with the freezing mark. Southern Connecticut, especially along the coast, will see temps stay around 40 degrees Thursday night. Inland areas of Southern Connecticut will see temps drop down into the mid to upper 30s on Thursday. It will also be chilly on Thursday with high temps in the upper 40s for most of the state and low 50s at the Connecticut coast.

The National Weather Service says, "High pressure to our east will drift farther out to sea tonight. This will leave us with mostly cloudy conditions as a warm front approaches, and there is even a chance of showers late at night. Low temperatures will not be as cool as they were last night.

Rain then becomes likely Monday morning as the warm front sweeps through the tri-state area. A cold front then approaches late in the day, and this will maintain the threat of showers throughout the day.
