CT Weather: Hour-By-Hour Forecast Of Heavy Rain, Flooding
The National Weather Service's estimations of rain, wind, and flooding concerns for Connecticut broken down in an hour-by-hour forecast.

Stop me if you've heard this one recently. Connecticut is looking at another 1 to 3 inches of rain, flash flooding concerns and thunderstorms this evening and overnight into Saturday morning. It seems we get one to two of these types of storms weekly since May. Soon enough the precipitation will be snow but not quite yet.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from this evening through late tonight for the entire state.
For all of Southern Connecticut, the weather service says, "Rainfall is expected to begin this afternoon into early evening and become moderate to heavy during the evening. The rain then becomes lighter and tapers off during the overnight hours.

Rainfall amounts will generally average between 1 and 2 inches, however locally higher amounts will be possible.
The combination of heavy rainfall and leaf clogged drainages will pose a threat for flash flooding across the entire watch area. Across low lying coastal areas, rising tides this evening will pose an enhanced threat for flash flooding."

For Northern Connecticut, the weather service says the Flood Watch is from the evening through Saturday afternoon.
"A widespread soaking rainfall is forecast this evening and overnight. One to 2 inches of rainfall is forecast, with isolated higher totals up to 3 inches.
This rainfall will bring the potential for significant urban and poor drainage flooding. Any leaf clogged storm drains will exacerbate this potential. The rains may also bring some area
rivers and streams into flood. Although Saturday is expected to be dry, some area rivers will take longer to crest, hence there is a chance that some rivers may go into flood during Saturday."
The silver lining is that the rain ends early Saturday and the sun reappears and temps will be around 50 degrees. Sunday will be chillier with temps in the mid 40s but at least it will be sunny. Veteran's Day on Monday will also be sunny with temps near 50. (To sign up for free, local breaking news alerts from more than 100 Connecticut communities, click here.)
