Hurricane Delta Remnants To Bring Heavy Rain To Connecticut

Here are the details on how much wind and rain Connecticut is expected to receive from the remnants of Hurricane Delta.

CONNECTICUT — Up to three inches of much-needed rain is forecast to fall beginning early Monday and lasting through Tuesday morning, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

The weather service said the "remnants of Delta" will have a major impact on the area beginning in the overnight hours of Monday and lasting through Tuesday morning.

Sunday will be nice with plenty of sunshine before the rains move in overnight. Large areas of the state are experiencing drought conditions.

"The remnants of Delta will move into the area from Sunday evening through Tuesday PM and bring with it a fair amount of rain. As of our latest update, we're expecting 1-3" with locally higher amounts possible. This rain is a welcome sight as we've been abnormally dry!" the National Weather Service said.

The heaviest rain is forecast during Monday and Monday night. "Expect breezy and unseasonably cool conditions to accompany the rain," the weather service said.

"Gusts likely fall below advisory conditions, but still cannot completely rule out an eventual need for an advisory for parts of the coast during Monday afternoon into evening. Breezy and cool otherwise, with temperatures primarily in the 50s during the day Monday, and rising somewhat at night with the approach of low pressure," the weather service said.

More rain is possible on Friday.
